Camay fruit is usually harvested during the dry season. The plants propagate like a cucumber fruits or watermelon. This fruit is very suitable to be planted in late summer before the rainy season. If the plant is exposed to rain just once a week, the fruit is getting better. The planting season until harvest is only two months.
Recently many people outside Bekasi hunt for camay fruit. In addition to cheap, it was very sweet. Now the fruit has been sent to the market Kramat Jati, Cibitung Parent Market, and Karawang. However, there are still few farmers who sell camay fruit in Bekasi regency. Small trades of camay merchants are visible along the Babelan highway up north to the Sukatenang area.
